White (visible) light rays-
The white light is made up of seven colors as we can see in a rainbow. Guess what? Each color of the spectrum has a specific positive effect on our body and health!
Infra-red rays-
Heat is imparted by these rays. The warmth of these rays is welcomed during the winters. It also helps in relaxing and soothing the muscles and also relives pain in the body.
Ultra-violet rays-
These rays have a special advantage and importance. When these rays fall on the skin, the body produces Vitamin D. A deficiency of Vitamin D can cause rickets. The entire body benefits from the sunlight which enhances the resistive powers of the body.
Some other benefits of sunbathing are:
- It nourishes the muscle. If we do not give proper sunlight to the body, the bones tend to weaken and degenerate as well.
- Proper formation of teeth is another advantage of sunbathing. It also increases the growth of hair.
- Kidneys become more efficient and the blood pressure is balanced.
- Skin diseases can be cured and wounds heal faster in sunlight.
- An increase in the levels of alkali in the body is also a benefit of sunbath.
For a pregnant lady, sunbath is very advantageous. It will relieve her
from pregnancy discomforts like backache, fatigue and nausea. It also improves the lactation during post pregnancy.
However, the exposure to sun should be limited to not more than half an hour and should be totally avoided during specific times of the day to save yourself from getting Skin Cancer!
